O Canadá tem se tornado cada vez mais um destino desejado por estudantes brasileiros. Para se ter uma ideia, segundo o CicNews, no ano de 2021, foram mais de 450 mil permissões de visto para estudantes em terras canadenses. E por lá, a cidade de Toronto é uma das mais procuradas pelos intercambistas. É que essa é a capital da província de Ontário uma metrópole que tem, constantemente, aparecido nas pesquisas como um dos melhores lugares do mundo para se viver. Em 1827, o rei George IV, do Reino Unido, decretou o início das construções de uma universidade na colônia onde hoje é Ontário, Canadá. Hoje em dia, aproximadamente 21% dos estudantes da Universidade de Toronto são estrangeiros. E para conseguir uma vaga por lá, você precisa passar por um processo seletivo bastante criterioso. Os interessados em cursar a graduação, podem se candidatar pelo sistema interno de aplicação da universidade – o University of Toronto International Application – ou através do Ontario Universities’ Application Centre OUAC, um sistema de aplicação compartilhada utilizado pelas universidades da província canadense de Ontário. Essa segunda opção é mais utilizada por aqueles candidatos que desejam se candidatar em mais de uma universidades ao mesmo tempo Mas atenção é obrigatório escolher apenas uma dessas duas opções para participar do processo seletivo. Um dos documentos exigidos pela instituição para estudantes brasileiros que desejam estudar por lá é o resultado do ENEM. Isso mesmo, você pode estudar na melhor universidade do Canadá com o resultado obtido no Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio e se atente a nota em matemática vai ter um peso grande durante a seleção. Mas é importante notar que outros documentos também são solicitados, como teste de proficiência em inglês e cartas de recomendação e de motivação. Dentre os testes de inglês, vários são aceitos, como o Cambridge Assessment com resultado indicando os níveis C1 - Avançado ou C2 - Proficiência, além de uma pontuação geral mínima de 180, com pelo menos 170 em cada componente. Já o TOEFL incluindo Home Edition tem como requisito mínimo a pontuação total de 100 e 22 em redação. Se você estiver frequentando ou já se graduou em uma universidade e tiver um histórico acadêmico de qualidade, será considerado para admissão com base na média anual mais recente, embora todo o seu histórico acadêmico seja avaliado. Também nesse caso, se o interessado estudou em uma instituição de ensino superior reconhecida, além dos requisitos mínimos, pode ser elegível para transferência de créditos entre as universidades. Mas isso depende de cada situação e vale conferir, com atenção, quais são os critérios! Para o ano letivo 2022-2023, a UofT já informou que o processo de inscrição na universidade começa no outono do ano anterior ao que você pretende iniciar seus estudos. Ou seja em outubro deste ano você já pode começar a sua aplicação. De forma geral, o calendário tem como data final o dia 13 de janeiro, mas foi prorrogado em alguns programas de graduação. Isso significa que são distribuídas ainda no processo seletivo de novos alunos para os candidatos que se saem melhor no processo seletivo mais um motivo para caprichar na aplicação. Os dois principais programas de bolsa dessa categoria são o University of Toronto Scholars Program e o President’s Scholars of Excellence Program. Como ambos são baseados em mérito, não há necessidade de novas aplicações para concorrer a esses auxílios. Pearson International Scholarship, que concede bolsas para alunos estrangeiros indicados por suas respectivas escolas de Ensino Médio e vale também para alunos internacionais que cursaram high school no Canadá. O processo é diferente porque o aluno deve ser indicado pela instituição. Para isso, esses alunos devem ter um ótimo desempenho acadêmico no Ensino Médio e habilidades de liderança.
